China has sent a team of three astronauts to its space station in an ambitious goal to become a space power and rival the dominance of Nasa in the US.

Beiing has spent billions of dollars into what President has described as the nation's “space dream” in recent years.

The team will work on the station for six months, carrying out experiments and installing protective equipment to maintain the station from space debris.

中国已将三名宇航员送往自己的空间站，以实现成为太空强国并与美国国家航空航天局（NASA）的主导地位相抗衡的宏伟目标。

近年来，北京方面已投入数十亿美元，努力实现中国所描述的国家“太空梦”。

Just so you know the BBC did not get its funding from USAID. It was the international charity BBC Media action which is legally and financially indepedent from the BBC. The BBC gets around £5 billion in total funding while USAID provided around £2.6 million to BBC media action which is 8% of it's income.

For the BBC it would represent around 1/2000 of it's funding.
