Indian, Pakistani troops exchange fire overnight in wake of Kashmir attack

Both India and Pakistan have confirmed an overnight exchange of fire along their contested and highly militarised border in Kashmir. The Indian army says it conducted a "limited firing of small arms" and accused Pakistani troops of initiating the shooting. Islamabad, though, did not say who started the exchange but reaffirmed that civilians were not targeted.

The possible conflict as well as the strain between Pakistan and India will definitely set India back in terms of economic development as precious resources will be prioritized for security.
